At Acco Systems we place a big emphasis on high standards and a professional, quality service – and that’s one of the reasons why other businesses come to us to train their engineers and technicians.

Part of that ethos means constantly improving our business and developing our engineers to be the best they can be.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. We have just been awarded the seal of approval from both Alcumus SafeContractor and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, where our staff have achieved special ‘Technician Member’ status (TMIET).

Top safety accreditation for Acco Systems

We have now been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace.

The leading third party accreditation scheme recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management among contractors across the UK.

Businesses are only allowed to join the scheme after undergoing a robust vetting process which examines health and safety arrangements, policies, qualifications and track record for safety.

It means companies looking for a professional, reliable contractor can turn to the SafeContractor database, safe in the knowledge that all accredited members have already been vetted.

Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor, said: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.

“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Acco Systems has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.

“SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

Special IET status for Acco engineers

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with more than 168,000 members globally, working together to ‘engineer a better world’.

The Acco Systems engineers have met the requirements to be approved as special ‘members with designatory letters’, known as Technician Members, or TMIET.

TMIET status is only given to those who achieve an acceptable standard of qualifications and experience in the field of science, engineering and technology.

The importance of a multi-skilled workforce

A multi-skilled workforce is an effective workforce. Ensuring your technicians and engineers have the electrical skills and knowledge to operate, maintain and manage electrical equipment is key to your business’s success.

We have our own technical engineering training centre, using accredited City & Guilds instructors so that we can help raise skills and qualifications across the industry.

Competency-based electrical and engineering courses are available in a number of areas including

  • Electrical skills training
  • Programmable controllers (PLCs)
  • Mechanical skills training
  • 17th Edition Electrical Leadership and Management
  • Bespoke training

You can contact Acco Systems for further information about electrical and engineering training, or if you need local electricians for your commercial business.
